Explore the coast

Use Mangawhai as a base to explore further north to Langs Beach, Waipu Cove, the Scottish village of Waipu and the Waipu Museum. Drive further north to Marsden Cove Marina on the Whangarei Harbour. Have a coffee at Waterline Café and visit the Marsden Point Refinery Visitor Centre. Walk along the harbour's edge and take in spectacular views of Mt Manaia and Mt Aubrey across the harbour. Or you can head south to Te Arai Point, Pakiri Beach and Goat Island Marine Reserve where you can enjoy world class snorkelling and diving, or keep dry and do the trip in a glass bottom boat around the island.
